William Alvarez, Jr.

William Alvarez Jr. is a fine artist whose work reflects a deep appreciation for beauty, faith, and the quiet meaning found in everyday life. Working primarily in an impressionistic style, he enjoys painting landscapes, seascapes, and flowers—subjects that allow him to capture light, atmosphere, and the subtle emotions found in nature.
Alvarez, who is of Puerto Rican heritage, grew up in Lordstown, Ohio, where his early experiences and observations of the world around him helped shape his creative perspective. His artwork is guided by careful observation and a desire to slow down and truly see the beauty that often goes unnoticed in daily life. Drawing inspiration from nature, personal experiences, and the rhythms of family life, his paintings aim to evoke peace, gratitude, and a sense of wonder.
Alongside his artistic pursuits, Alvarez has built a distinguished career in healthcare and medical scholarship. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and completed specialized residency training in cardiology. Early in his career, he served as the first clinical pharmacy specialist in cardiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he helped establish and develop the cardiology pharmacy service. Throughout his career he has authored scientific publications, delivered professional lectures, and contributed to medical education and clinical practice.
Today, Alvarez serves as Director of Content Harmonization for Clinical Drug Information at Wolters Kluwer, where he helps guide the development of trusted medical reference content used by healthcare professionals around the world.
Family plays a central role in Alvarez’s life and artistic inspiration. He has been married for more than 31 years to the love of his life, and together they have built a close-knit family that includes two sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two beautiful granddaughters who bring tremendous joy to his life.
Alvarez lives and works in Ohio, where he continues to pursue his passion for creating art that celebrates beauty, faith, family, and the richness of life’s everyday moments.
